Ce lundi 3 octobre marque la rentrée scolaire et universitaire 2011-2012 au Bénin, occasion pour les écoliers, élèves et étudiants de renouer avec les cours. Dans les écoles partenaires du "Global Curriculum Project", c'est une rentrée qui devrait relancer les activités liées à ce projet à quelques jours de l'organisation de la visite d'étude prévue du 24 au 31 octobre 2011 dans le pays. A toutes et à tous, une bonne renbtrée 2011-2012 !

To learn about the diversity and importance of the element water - this concerned students of the borg3 last week. The teachers arranged a whole project day for all fifth graders on the subject "water".

Opportunities for global and sustainable learning

In January 25, 2012, S. Paulo has celebrated its 458 anniversary. It was founded in 1554, by Portuguese Jesuit priests. They probably did not imagine that the small village growing around a small school courtyard was the embryo of one of the greatest metropolis in the world, with 11,2 million inhabitants in 2012. A population that is greater than the population of many countries, for instance Benin. Of the 6 Brazilian schools that participate from the Global Curriculum Project , 5 are located in S. Paulo- Colégio Bandeirantes, EMEF Guilherme de Almeida, EE Julia Pantoja, Politeia School and Teia Multicultural Cultural School- and one, EE Luiza Hidaka, stays in Suzano, a city that is part of S.Paulo Metropolitan area.

Photo Project

Global Education in the secondary school Marchettigasse

The students of class 2A and 5A started a photo project in this school year. Via website teenagers in Brazil and Austria exchange pictures to different topics. Pictures of topics like "The view out of my window" or "You are what you like" are presented online so that the students can see and work with these.

Global Curriculum Project Conference

8th of December 2011, Olomouc, Czech Republic

The speakers of the conference were representatives of Czech Development Agency, ARPOK, Südwind and teachers involved in the project. The aim of the conference was to introduce directors and teachers of elementary and secondary schools to the concept of Global Development Education (GDE) on the example of an international project – Global Curriculum.

How live teenagers in other parts of the world? How does their houses looks like inside and outside? Students of the class 5A tried to answer these questions within a workshop with Südwind representative Téclaire Ngo Tam.
