NEGO-COM
Founded in 2001, NEGO-COM is a non-profit organization which strives for the advent of a global education for all and an endogenous development which permits Benin and Africa to have autonomous, united, responsible and committed citizens.
Started with some educational activities, the work of NEGO-COM has strengthened over the years with activities in various fields. Thus, the cooperative relations in global education and intercultural learning that we develop with 14 central and West Africa countries and others in Europe allow to provide educational support and materials to schools in Benin. NEGO-COM is also involved in the school support for orphaned and/or disadvantaged children by a sponsoring system that includes more than fifty children. In addition to literacy, we contribute to socio-economic capacity building of women/girls through training for the processing of local products, the introduction to modern marketing and support to entrepreneurship. In aid of young people, NEGO-COM organizes physical and sport activities and computer training.Faced with the threat of STI and HIV/AIDS for mankind today, NEGO-COM developes for the most vulnerable (girls, boys and women) Information Education and Communication by awareness sessions and publication of booklets. In order to strengthen the capacity of meeting and training and to give more visibility to activities, NEGO-COM in partnership with the NGO SASIA (Austria) has built the Global Education House called "the light“. This center is a complex which shelters our various activities.

War: What good is it for?

One World Day. (Brudenell Primary School, Leeds) Students from Politics, Law and Geography Departments of the University of Leeds worked with Year 6 children from Brudenell Primary School on the topic: “War, what good is it?” from the 3 different department perspectives. The children were studying World War 2 as their topic and this event enabled them to reflect further on the reasons for and the results of wars. The day the children spent at the University with the students was a culmination of work done in school with them, in their school . Each slide on the 3 power-points relating to Politics, Law and Geography, is the result of an individual child’s work or a pair working together For all the presentations click on the link.
