School history
Bandeirantes was inaugurated on March 1st, 1934 as Bandeirantes Gymnasium. At this time, Engineer Antônio Carvalho Aguiar was the President Director at Colégio Liceu Panamericano; known as the preparatory school for the Paulista Medical School. He left in 1943. Throughout the years, about 38 thousand young students have passed through the school. In general, Colegio Bandeirantes students obtain high levels of approval in the vestibular (entrance exam for the universities). Inserted in the neighborhood of Vila Mariana, in the district of Paraíso, students who attend come from several different neighborhoods of São Paulo, or even further.
What we want to tell about our school
Colégio Bandeirantes is a traditional institution, recognized for its high quality of education. It counts on creative teachers who are always willing to accept challenges in order to offer the students the best pedagogical resources (be it through conventional lessons, be it through the use of the latest technology) in order for the learning process to be the most efficient. Add to that the knowledge of the teenage universe (the age group we work with), seeking to better understand them, and in establishing healthy relationships amongst the members of the community, creating an environment where respect is predominant. Our students come predominantly from upper middle class families that value good education. The school also receives students with a scholarship, through the partnership with the NGO iSMART,that offers the opportunity to talented students who come from the public schools and have the chance to finish their studies in a school recognized for its excellent results in exams to enter the most renowned Universities.
The school has several laboratories (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Writing, English, Spanish, Informatics), gymnasiums and libraries, which contribute significantly to the good development of all the proposed activities. The Cultural Department promotes study field trips, artistic shows (musicals, theatre and movies) and visits to museums in order to amplify the cultural universe of the students.
Colégio Bandeirantes, synchronized with the world in which it is inserted, has demonstrated increasing preoccupation with issues related to ethics and sustainability. Proof of this is the creation of projects and courses that have been developed in the institution. Some examples are: Ethical and Digital Citizenship Course for Middle school and High school, Citizenship Program in High School, Group Relationship Process for Middle School and High School, Clean Room Project for Middle School and High School, Education for Sustainability Project in High School, Science Fair for Middle School and High School.
